A Fine 18th Century 8 Day Solid Oak Longcase Clock By Thomas Barker Of Framlingham, Suffolk c. 1790. The clock has a beautiful painted and gilded face and the movement has been recently fully serviced. Thomas Barker was born in about 1757 and died in 1822. He was married to Elizabeth Keer of Badingham in 1782, who was a member of a well known Suffolk family. The marriage records describe Barker as "Watchmaker of Framlingham". He had premises in Framlingham and Debenham. Ipswich Museums Collection includes two fine examples of Thomas Barker's work.
